Project overview

Data centres, factories, hospitals, cell towers and government buildings all hold equipment that fails expensively if the temperature, humidity or power goes wrong. VigilBox watches those conditions around the clock.

It had to handle many kinds of sensor, send alerts through whichever channel people actually see, stay easy to expand, and use very little power itself.

Key results

0132Temperature sensors per unit
0264Battery monitors per unit
03Under 60WPower draw
045Alert channels

Workflow

Each unit takes up to 32 temperature sensors and 64 battery monitors, alongside humidity, smoke, motion, intrusion, AC power, UPS and generator inputs. It connects over Ethernet with Power over Ethernet support, draws under 60W and mounts on a DIN rail or a wall.

A web dashboard shows live readings on an interactive map, battery bank status, AC voltage and temperature history, with secure role-based sign-in. Alerts go out by email, SMS, mobile push, on screen and as an audible alarm, and a REST API opens the data to other systems.
